Apiskwai Kihîw Consulting Ltd. was founded by Margo Auger, a proud Nehiyaw Iskew (Cree woman) from Bigstone Cree Nation which is in Treaty No. 8 Territory. Our firm is 100% First Nations-owned and operated, ensuring that the work we do is deeply rooted in First Nation knowledge, values, and governance.
The name Apiskwai Kihîw means “Golden Eagle” in Cree, symbolizing vision, wisdom, and strength—principles that guide our approach to First Nations governance, nationhood, and law development.
As a Cree speaker, Margo connects with First Nations leaders, Elders, and communities in ways that honour language, relationships, and traditional governance structures. With an extensive background in First Nations politics, municipal and provincial government, land use planning, and project management, she brings a wealth of expertise to support First Nations in reclaiming and strengthening their governance systems.

Founder & CEO, Apiskwai Kihîw Consulting Ltd.
Margo Auger is a Nehiyaw Iskew (Cree woman) from Bigstone Cree Nation, Treaty No. 8 Territory, and the founder of Apiskwai Kihîw Consulting Ltd. She is a Cree speaker and brings over 20 years of experience in First Nations governance, law development, consultation, and engagement.
Her career spans multiple levels of government, industry, and First Nations leadership, having worked directly with Treaty Chiefs, Elders, and Indigenous organizations across Treaty 6, 7, and 8, as well as in municipal and provincial government.
Margo’s extensive expertise includes:
